Giants in the Fog
On the way to Glacier Peak, tree lined ridges stand tall against the torrential downpour in late September. Soon rain drops will turn into snow flakes that will blanket the cascades for months.
Mist
Mist formed at the surface of Reflections Lake. I used a flash light to paint the water and the otherwise invisible mist seems ghostly on the surface.

Breakthrough
This was a very dark and gloomy afternoon in La Push, WA in the pouring rain. Just as I was about the pack up, the sun shone through over the Pacific.
Tranquility
Long exposure of Lake MacDonald in Glacier National Park. On this overcast day, the hue turned blueish over a very peaceful lake. The long exposure emphasizes the stillness of the moment. Waterfalls are barely visible in the background.

Reflection
Low level smoke from nearby campfires create the illusion of fog over Lake Diablo in the North Cascades National Park.
Beach
Winter on Ruby beach. Low tides allows to capture the slow motion of the surf creeping on the shallow beach. The blue hue comes around 10 minute after sunset. The motion of the clouds in captured by the long exposure.

Aurora Borealis over Howe Sound, BC
Rare so far south, this aurora appeared right after dinner with friends in Horsehoe bay near Vancouver, Canada
Ascension
Climbers on Mount Rainier start their way up to the Summit at 1:00am.
Driving up to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park, I only had a few minutes to stop and get that shot of the fog shining through firs above me.
